GK1 Walkthrough - Day 5

"The road was blocked, the truth was shunned, the white flag had been waved.
Reversal cost me all I had, and everything I'd braved...."

St. George's Rare Books
Grace will tell you that Professor Hartridge called this morning, saying he has found out something. Also, uncle Wolfgang has kept his promise: a package from Germany has arrived. Grace didn't resist temptation and opened it: it's content is a leather booklet and a letter from Wolfgang Ritter (01, 164/342). Read the letter (01, 165/342), then give a read to the booklet which, as said in the letter, is the diary of one of your ancestors - Gunther Ritter (01, 166/342). Your family has been a dynasty of Schattenjägers for generations - and Gabriel is the last of the line!
Now ask Grace to do some research for you: you absolutely need to know more about the "Rada Drums" Crash told you about yesterday, no matter on how much such a book could cost (02, 168/342). Read the newspaper: the Voodoo Murders case has been officially closed! How can be possible that? You'll have to check it out. Gabriel will read also his horoscope for the day:

"The shadow upon you is no longer reversible." (01, 169/342).

Great. Leave the bookshop and go to visit professor Hartridge at

Tulane University
He's dead! The Voodoo Murders haven't stopped, even if the case is closed. before dying he managed to scribble some notes onto a piece of paper on his desk: pick them up (02, 171/342), then leave the building. This time before leaving Gabe will accomplish to his civil duties and announce the discovery of the body to the security team. Read the notes: there is written something about Ogodoun Badagris and Dambhallah, the same words Crash mentioned before dying. Perhaps Dr. John knows something about that: go to the

Historical Voodoo Museum
It's all dark. Suddenly the big python drops from above and attempts to kill you by constriction! Do you remember what was said in the book about snakes? They hate noise, so to avoid being killed operate the noisy fan next to the door (05, 176/342): the snake will fly away. Whew! Dr. John will enter in, saying the museum is closed. No chance to ask him about anything, so go back home to have a coffee and recover from the shock.

St. George's Rare Books
Grace will notice you have something on your face. With her obsession with order she can't leave you like that and she'll remove, dropping it into the ashtray. It's too small to pick it up by hands, so use the tweezers to get it: it's a snake scale from the python (01, 177/342). Take a look at it with your magnifying glass: it matches perfectly the scale from the crime scene (03, 180/342)! But... this would mean that Dr. John is involved into the Voodoo murders! And now, if yo think about it, what was written on  Marie Laveau's tomb? "DJ conclave tonight bring fwetkash". It's absolutely necessary to go to the Police Station and tell Mosely that the case has to be reopened.

Mosely's Office
Ask Mosely about the "Case Status": he'll tell you some nonsense about how they suppose it was a war between the local cartel and a Chicago cartel for the control of the New Orleans business, and that with this conclusion the case has been closed. Ask him to "Reopen Case": he'll tell you he would like to, but that he'd need to prove that there is a legitimate Voodoo cult in New Orleans, that they're a threat and a lead on the cult. To satisfy his first request show him the reconstructed pattern and the notes left by Professor Hartridge (02, 182/342). Showing him the newspaper clipping Grace gave you yesterday you will be able to convince him that they're a threat, killing then and killing now again (02, 184/342). And what lead on the cult cold be better than showing him the two matching snake scales from the museum and from the crime scene (02, 186/342)? You managed to convince him, but he now wants you to stay out of the case: he wants to investigate on his own, so he'll lock his office and exit. After he's gone, leave the Police Station: Gabriel will go home.
But Malia won't answer the phone... A really painful ending to Day 5.
