GK1 Walkthrough - Day 6

"And then the night became as day, I glimpsed nature's reddest claw!
The face of fear looked back at me as I gazed into the maw...."

St. George's Rare Books
The night without Malia hasn't been positive: Gabriel had the same nightmare again, and with even more details in it. And the worst thing is that there have been some intruders in the bookshop, surely sent from the Voodoo cartel. Anyway Grace has managed to find the book on Rada Drums you needed (02, 188/342). First of all read the newspaper. Your horoscope for the day says

"Today you will either die, or your life will change forever". That's not quite encouraging! (01, 189/342).

Take the envelope introduced so craftily while you were talking with Grace (02, 191/342) and open it (01, 192/342). It contains a letter from Mosely and a small brass key. Read the letter (01, 193/342). It would be useful to have a look at the content of Mosely's office, just in case... Leave the bookshop and go to the Police Station. Unfortunately they won't let you in, and if you try to ask Frick about Mosely his answer won't be encouraging. You'll need to think about something else. To find inspiration, go to

Jackson Square
You'll find there a guy selling beignets. Chat with him, asking him "Say, haven't I seen you before?". After his answer, continue talking asking him "You say you used to be at Royal and Conti?". The corner between Royal and Conti is where the Police Station is... Go on with the conversation saying "Why don't you go back there?" "I definitely think you should go back to Royal and Conti." He will follow your advice and will leave (02, 195/342). Well, at least you can have some element to rely on during the development of your Get Into The Office plan. But before you go back, walk to the North-East section of the square, where the drummer is: if the drums are a kind of code, and you have the book with the code, why don't you try to discover if there's any message? Use the book (select it, then click on Gabriel): compare the combination of sounds you hear with those written in its pages and get the message: Call Conclave Tonight Swamp (05, 200/342). So there is something tonight, and it can be only in the Bayou St. John. But Where exactly? Return to the Police Station.
It seems you're going to have a chance, at least. The beignet guy stopped right outside, and Desk Sergeant Frick is starving, so he'll go out for a few seconds to buy  some food from the vendor. When he's out, open quickly the swinging door and then, using the brass key, the door of

Mosely's Office
(02, 202/342) Note: due to the computer configuration, the whole sequence could happen to take place too quickly to do anything. In this case, wait when Frick returns to the desk: he'll fall asleep (eaten too much?) for a moment long enough to do everything you need.

Open his desk's drawer: it contains a tracking device with two trackers. They might be useful: pick them up (01, 203/342), then leave the building and head for

St. Louis Cemetery #1
There are some new marks on the wall: write them down (02, 205/342). Then compare them in your inventory with those you have the translation of: the resulting message is

DJ keeps e*e on GK b*t does not har*

(02, 207/342). Three letters are still missing, but it's not hard to guess which they are. DJ keeps eye on GK but does not harm. But that's about Doctor John keeping eye upon you, Gabriel Knight! Now that you know it, you can always use this information to find the place where tonight's conclave takes place: do you remember Dr. John had, among the objects displayed in the museum, also the ritual coffin poor Professor Hartridge mentioned in his conference? Pick up a piece of brick (01, 208/342), then, making sure Toussaint Gervais is not around, use it on the wall to write this message: "DJ conclave tonight bring sekey madoule" (05, 213/342). Well done, now you can go to the

Historical Voodoo Museum
Place a tracker on the ritual coffin next to the door (03, 215/342): now you can be sure that you'll be able to find the conclave anywhere on Earth. But before you go there, there is one last thing you need: Crash, who took part to some of the conclaves, had a snake tattoo on his chest. You'll need a similar one, so return to

St. George's Rare Books
Show the drawing of Crash's tattoo to Grace and ask her to paint it on you, saying "I'm going to a party tonight. Costumes, you know." She'll make some comments about Malia Gedde, but chill her out saying "Well, if you're jealous about my feeling for her..." (03, 218/342). Now you're really ready to join the conclave, so go to

Bayou St. John
(Note: You can find this destination icon on the NOMS).

Once you're here, activate the tracking device: to find the place you'll simply have to walk towards the red flashing dot that appears on the tracking device screen. Don't get confused by the twists and turns of the bayou: in the end you will arrive next to the clearing where the conclave takes place. (03, 221/342). It's time to go: wear your crocodile mask, and Gabriel will walk into the Voodoo circle (02, 223/342). He will be welcomed by D. John, alias Brother Eagle, who will try to check if Gabriel is a real believer. To answer his questions about the Big Snake and the Destroyer of men use the information from Hartridge's lecture and say "Dambhallah" and "Ogodoun Badagris" (01, 224/342). Enjoy yourself well tonight... Even if this is a walkthrough I don't want to spoil you the events of the end of Day 6 - St. John's Eve.
