GK3 Walkthrough - Day 1, 2pm-4pm

The Motorcycle Rental Shop is now open. Go there (when exiting from the hotel and facing the fountain it's on the right side before the turning of the street that leads to the museum).

Motorcycle Rental Shop
Ask Bigout, the shop attendant, information about "motorcycle rent" (02, 079/965). It's clear that you have absolutely to manage to get that nice Harley Davidson, or Gabriel will get depressed. The problem is that you aren't on the Bigout's list. Are you sure you aren't? What about a disguise? Mosely is on the list... Go back to the

Hotel Lobby
First of all press the call button with number 33, which is Mosely's room number, on the left side of the reception desk (click on it, then use the "push" icon) (02, 081/965). Note: be sure Jean isn't at the desk or Gabriel will refuse to do it. After some time you'll see Mosely coming down, taking a candy from the bowl on the table opposite Jean's desk and eating it. Aha! That's his weakness! You can use it to get his passport. Get a candy from the bowl (02, 083/965) and go upstairs to the

Hotel Hall
Put the candy on the table in front of Emilio's door (Click on the table, then use the "object" icon) (02, 085/965). Return downstairs and buzz to Mosely, then go back quickly in the hall and position yourself on the right side of Mosely's door. When he comes out, follow him. He'll take the candy from the table (that guy is so greedy, isn't he?), and that's the moment you need to act: take his passport (click on him and use the "take" icon ). Gabriel will approach to him from behind and, believe it or not, will take his passport out from his pocket and Mosely won't see or feel anything (!) (05, 090/965).

Note: If you weren't quick enough to do it, you can pick up another candy, call him again and try again.

Now sneak quickly in

Mosely's Room
Take Mosely's gold jacket from the hanger that is between the dresser and the door (That guy has a terrible style of dressing, and has not changed it since GK1. No comment!) (02, 092/965), then return immediately in the hall.

Note: if you won't do it, Gabriel will do it himself automatically after a few seconds and then if you didn't get the jacket you'll have to call him down again.

Now go downstairs in the

Hotel Lobby
First pick up the marker on the reception desk (be sure Jean isn't there) (02, 094/965): you need it to modify a little the photo on Mosely's passport. Open your inventory (type "I" to open the inventory or right click, then use the "inventory" icon), be sure you have selected it (if you don't, while in the inventory, click on the marker, then use the "take" icon) and use it on the passport (click on the passport, then use the "object" icon) (02, 096/965). Well done, he has a nice pair of moustaches now! Let's have a little break: talk to Lady Howard and Estelle sitting next to the door about their "room swap" with Emilio (02, 098/965). Now you need to get a pair of moustaches to be similar to the photo on Mosely's passport. Go in the

Hotel Dining Room
Pick up some syrup from the buffet table (02, 100/965). Great! You have collected your first hundred points! Now go to the

Cemetery
You'll find Abbe Arnaud watering the plants on his window with a white sprinkler: when he leaves it on the window and disappears in his house, pick it up (02, 102/965). Go out from the cemetery,

Outside the Church
Follow the street on your very left until its end: you'll see a black cat in the middle of the road. What a cute animal! Pet him (click on him and use the "pet" icon). He won't like your proof of love and will run away through a little hole in a closed gate. After some time it will reappear on the top of the wall on the right of the street. Do you think it's possible to get some fur to make your moustaches? It is: stick the tape on the hole (select it in your inventory, then click on the hole and use the "object" icon) (02, 104/965). Then spray the cat with the sprinkler (select it in your inventory, then click on the cat and use the "object" icon) (02, 106/965). Poor little pet, it doesn't like it! He will hop down from the wall and take shelter in the hole, but this time he will leave some fur on the tape. Get the furry tape (02, 108/965) and combine it in your inventory with the syrup (select one of the objects in your inventory, then click on the on the other and use the "object" icon): le voila, you have a nice pair of sticky moustaches. Combine them with the jacket. Your disguise is taking shape, but you need something more, a sort of cheer on the top of the cake. Go to the

Museum Entry Room
Take the red hat from the lost-and-found box on the right (02, 110/965). Combine it with the rest of your disguise (05, 115/965). Tada! Return in the

Motorcycle Rental Shop
Disguise as Mosely (select the disguise in your inventory, click on Gabriel and use the "object" icon). Gabriel will hide from you, then he will come into view and rent the Harley Davidson from Bigout (10, 125/965). Do you like his clowny-Mosely look? When you'll get control, you will find yourself Outside the Hotel. Notice some new items in your inventory: a shovel, a pair of binoculars and the keys of the Harley. What are you waiting for? It's time to leave Rennes-le-Château on your beautiful motorcycle.

Note: you can do it in several ways: the most simple is clicking on the way out from the town (on the left of the fountain when exiting from the hotel and facing it). You can also click on the motorcycle and use the "use" button, or select its keys in your inventory and use the "object" button on the motorcycle.

This will make the Big Map Screen (BMS) open.
The BMS is a map of the area around Rennes-le-Château. There are some places that light up when you pass on them with the mouse: clockwise they are Couiza, where you arrived by train last night, Larry Chester's (do you remember the name? Abbe Arnaud said he's writing a book on Templar Knights), Château de Blanchefort and Rennes-les-Bains. Let's do all in order: first, let's go to Couiza. Click on the point on the map and Gabriel will arrive by motorcycle in a village of few houses,

Outside Couiza Trainstation
Take a look around: it would be wonderful if you found somebody who has seen your arrival last night. There is a man next to a black car in the neighbourhood: talk to him. He is the taxi driver that brought you to Rennes-le-Château last night, but he won't tell you anything important unless you open his mouth with some money (select the wallet in your inventory, then click on him and use the "object" button). When he'll receive two banknotes, he'll tell you some information about "Two men with a trunk" (05, 130/965). There's nobody else around, so go into the

Couiza Trainstation
Do you remember Vittorio Buchelli said he arrived by train from Naples just last night? Look at the arrival board and think about it (click on it, then use the "think" icon) (02, 132/965). So... there was only one train, and it was from Rome! This would mean that Buchelli...? Try to learn more from the lady at the ticket office: ask her two times about the "train from Naples" (02+02, 136/965). You've surely begun to suspect that the Italian man didn't tell you the truth! Anyway, there's nothing else you can do here; the next place to go should be Larry Chester's, but we won't go there for now: we have all the next timeblock to do it, because the visit to Larry Chester is one of the actions that are necessary to complete next timeblock. In order to do all we can do and get all the possible points we'll go rather to

Blanchefort Lot
Note: In fact, almost all the sites in the valley, as you'll see, aren't directly facing the street but have a lot along it and there is usually a path that leads from it to the actual site.

When Gabriel gets off the motorcycle, wait a few seconds: you'll see passing on the road Wilkes on his motorcycle and Madeline on her van: follow her (click on her, then use the "follow" icon) (02, 138/965). She'll arrive to a place called Coume Sourde.

Note: to get maximum points, this must be done as first, since the timeblock ends as soon as you've visited both Coume Sourde and L'Ermitage.

It's not necessary to talk to her: she won't tell you anything important. Go rather back to Blanchefort Lot and from there to Château de Blanchefort (When facing the big rock, follow the path on its right, then in next screen follow the path that leads upwards, because the other would lead you to Larry Chester's).

Château de Blanchefort
It's time to use for the first time the binoculars you received with the Harley Davidson (select them in your inventory, then click on Gabriel using the "object" icon): when the binocular view of the valley appears, use the directional arrows at the bottom of your screen to rotate around in a 360 degree circle, and to move up and down. When the "50X" button lights up, use it, and you'll get a magnified view of a small part of the valley.

Note: there are several places where the "50X" button highlights, so look out.

Watch on Coume Sourde: you'll see something very interesting about Madeline (05, 143/965).

EASTER EGG: No In-Flight Meal Served
The Big Egg Trigger must be enabled first. At any time, when at Château de Blanchefort, click on the sign pointing to Mt. Cardou, and use the "egg action" icon.

Now return to

Blanchefort Lot
This time you'll follow John Wilkes (02, 145/965): he'll stop in a place called L'Ermitage.

L'Ermitage Lot
Have you thought about writing down the licence plates of the hotel guests' motorcycles? It would be a nice way to know more easily who is exactly in a place without even meeting him. Let's start with Wilkes: write down his license plate (select the notepad in your inventory, then click on his motorcycle and use the "object" icon) (02, 147/965), then follow the path to

L'Ermitage
Talk to Wilkes about his "machine" and his opinions about the "treasure" and the
"grail" (02+02+02, 153/965). Return back to Blanchefort Lot: as soon as you leave L'Ermitage Lot, the timeblock ends.
