GK3 Walkthrough - Day 2, 2pm-5pm

Now you're Gabriel. Grace comes into your room, shocked, and tells you about the dead men. You exit from the room: you want to go and take a look at the whole situation.

Hotel Hall
Note: Now you'll have to do four actions that are on timer: you can do them only at the very beginning of the timeblock and you have only five minutes of time. Anyway be always patient and never press the ESC key to make the action quicker: doing this would automatically cancel most part of your five-minutes time and then it would be almost impossible to do all the things you have to. It's time to use the glass you got yesterday: eavesdrop on Madeline's room (select the glass in your inventory, then click on the door and use the "object" icon) (02, 382/965). That woman is too interested in the murder, isn't she? Now eavesdrop on Lady Howard and Estelle's room (02, 384/965), then go quickly downstairs in the

Hotel Lobby
Making sure to avoid Jean (who would waste precious seconds of your little time), talk to Wilkes, who is sitting down next to the door, to get some more information about the murder (02, 386/965), then sneak quickly into the

Hotel Telephone Room
Somebody is using the phone: try to record the phone call (07, 393/965). You'll find that the person who was using the phone is Buchelli - he was talking to somebody in Latin. Is he calling the Vatican? Now, if you did successfully all of these four things, you have completed the timed part of the timeblock. Well done! As you have certainly understood, you're trying to discover the reaction to the murder of all the tour group members. Who's missing? Arnaud, of course. You'll find him on

Tour Magdala Lookout
Talk to him about the "dead men" (02, 395/965). OK. He isn't telling the truth, but there's time for it later. Now leave Rennes-le-Château and go to (guess where?)

Le Fauteuil du Diable Lot
Look around: you should find some tire tracks on the side of the street opposite to the path that leads to Le Fauteuil du Diable. Look at them (02, 397/965), then follow them and enter the area

Across from Le Fauteuil du Diable
(02, 399/965). What do you see? Somebody has hidden here Mallory and McDougall's car. It would be good if you could find where they had been last night: make a rubbing of the tires of the car (select the notepad in your inventory, then click on it and use the "object" icon), so you will be able to recognise its tracks everywhere (02, 401/965). There's nothing more in this place, so go finally to

Le Fauteuil du Diable
(02, 403/965). You'll find there Mosely, that remained there while all the rest of the tour group returned to the hotel. First look around: it's rather disgusting, I know, but you have to do it. Think about the heads of the dead men (02, 405/965), then explore the area until you'll find three big pools of blood. Look at them (05, 410/965), then notice the prints next to the blood. Think about them twice: Gabriel will have two visions in which he'll see what happened last night (02+02, 414/965). Did you know Schattenjägers have prophecy skills? Now you can talk to Mosely and tell him that the murderers are the "vampires" (If you want to, you can tell him also the other possibilities, but be sure to choose as first the "vampires", otherwise you won't get points) (02, 416/965). Return to Le Fauteuil du Diable Lot: you'll meet Madeline that has just called the police. Why is she so interested in the murder? Mosely will ask you to bring him to the town with your motorcycle; you'll take him to the Motorcycle Rental Shop. When he has gone, leave the town again and go to

Larry Chester's House
Talk to Larry twice about the "dead men" and about his "handshake" (02+02+04, 424/965). He'll get angry and you'll have to go away, but as soon as you exit from his house, he'll make a phone call and set his clock. Then he'll go for a walk. When you'll get control, you'll be

Outside Larry's House
You must absolutely know what hour has Larry set on his clock: it's time to use the wire hanger. Use it on the hole in the broken window (select the wire hanger in your inventory, click on the hole, then use the "object icon): Gabriel will introduce it there and will manage to see the hour set on the alarm clock (07, 431/965).

EASTER EGG: The Joke
Go to Le Fauteuil du Diable while the police are still there. Click over 10
times on one of the police cars using the "look" icon. Eventually, Gabriel will break down and tell you a joke.

Return to the town and go in the

Hotel Lobby
(02, 433/965) You'll see Emilio and Estelle bumping one into each other; when Estelle has gone out from the hotel, ask Jean for a "wake-up call" at 2:00 am (02, 435/965), then go to the

Hotel Telephone Room
Call Prince James to tell him the situation (05, 440/965). Why on the earth doesn't he want to tell you everything? Don't think about it and go rather upstairs in your room.

Gabriel's Room
When Mosely arrives, too, Grace will stop reading her book: talk to her about "grail", "bloodline", "priory", "Arnaud" and "treasure" (02+02+02+02+02, 450/965). Then Mosely will go away. His behaviour is beginning to be suspect: what if he isn't here simply as a tourist? Anyway take his fingerprints from the bottle he left on the table (02, 452/965). Now go downstairs in the

Hotel Lobby
On the table next to the door there are Buchelli and Wilkes' glasses. It's a good idea to get the fingerprints from them: one, Buchelli's one, should be similar to the one you already have, but the other is Wilkes' fingerprint (02, 454/965). Now return back in your room and use

SIDney
Scan in Buchelli's phone-call tape and Wilkes' fingerprint to add them to your database (02+01, 457/965), then translate Buchelli's phone call from Latin to your language (02, 459/965) and link Wilkes' print to his suspect file (01, 460/965). Now you should go to the Château de Serres and try to know something more about it and about its owner, Montreaux. A good idea would be pretending to be a reporter and getting an interview/conversation with Montreaux. Open the "Make ID" screen, then select "New York Times" from the "Newspaper Reporter" menu and select Gabriel's photo. Print the fake ID: you'll be Gabriel Knight from the New York Times! (02, 462/965) However, first you should find Estelle (do you remember? She went out from the hotel some minutes ago). Leave the town and go to

Blanchefort Lot
Estelle is riding around the valley: follow her (02, 464/965). She'll stop in an anonymous place: this is Lady Howard's Site Lot. Go across the rock-bordered area to

Lady Howard's Site
You'll find Estelle in the middle of the area, looking in a map. Talk to her about "Lady Howard" and the "site" (02+02, 468/965). Do she and Lady Howard really believe they'll find the treasure? Leave Estelle alone with her map and go to the Château de Serres. Leave the motorcycle in the courtyard and go though the open gate to the

Château de Serres Parking Lot
Next to the road you'll see some tire tracks. Match them to Mallory and McDougall's car tire tracks you got at Le Fauteuil du Diable Lot (select the rubbing in your inventory, then click on the tire tracks and use the "object" icon) (02, 470/965), then return in

Château de Serres Courtyard
Knock on the main door of the castle: when Marceau (the barman in the Wine Tasting Room, do you remember him?) opens you the door, ask him for an "interview" with Montreaux (05, 475/965). He'll eventually come and will lead you to the

Château de Serres Wine Tasting
Talk to Montreaux (after all, you are here to make an interview!) about "grail", "murder" and twice about "viticulture" (02+02+02+02, 483/965). That man is really creepy... Anyway your interview has ended: return to the town and go in your hotel room. There you'll find Grace and, when Mosely will arrive, you two will go together to have dinner. As soon as Grace remains alone, the timeblock ends.
