GK1 Walkthrough - Day 4

"I spoke to one who smelled of death, he gave to me his ears.
And crosses that were marked were made into a veil of tears...."

St. George's Rare Books
At the beginning of the day Grace will give you some material about the pattern you asked her to research yesterday (01, 143/342). When she's done, have a look at the newspaper. Your horoscope is worsening every day more:

"Death walks close to you today. Resist temptation lest His eye fall on you, too" (01, 144/342).

Well, it's time to go. Today you'll start your tour at

Napoleon House
As you enter, you'll find Sam excited because going on vacation: he'll thank you once more and will give you the bracelet he made from the mould you gave him (01, 145/342). leave him to his happiness and, since you have time, follow finally Dr. John's suggestion: go to visit Magentia Moonbeam (you should have already noticed the crystal ball icon on the FQMS)

Magentia Moonbeam's
The voodooienne appears suspect immediately: she has got a snake, and on crime scene you found a snake scale. What about trying to get a scale, in order to compare it to the one you already have? Ask her about "snakes", then about "Grimwald". She'd never let you have a scale of her beloved snake, so you'll have to do otherwise: make Gabriel ask her "Would you show me how you handle Grimwald?". She'll take her snake from the cage and will start dancing with it (01, 146/342). While she's dancing, approach to the snake cage and take from it Grimwald's shed skin (02, 148/342); then look at it in your inventory and magnify it to compare its scales with the one you got on the banks of the lake (select the magnifying glass in your inventory, then click on the shed skin) (01, 149/342). When Magentia stops dancing, ask her if she knows anything about the upcoming "St. John's Eve" (02, 151/342), then show her the marks you copied from Marie Laveau's tomb (03, 154/342). Magentia knows the code, so she'll translate it for you - but some parts do not make much sense: the translation is

DJ Bring Conclave tonight fwetkash

Don't worry, you'll think about that later: now leave Magentia and head to Jackson Square.
Wow! What's doing Crash there? Apparently nothing: he's just a bit sick. But he has seen you, and he surely remembers you from yesterday, so don't expect him to do anything while you're around. What about going to watch him from

Jackson Square Overlook
Use the binoculars pointing towards the NE corner of the square (select the "wheels" icon, then click on them): you'll see Crash approaching to the drummer and having a few words with him (03, 157/342). You absolutely need to know what he said, so return in the square and from there follow the young man into

St. Louis Cathedral
Crash sits down in a row of seats: he appears to be very sick. Don't ask him any questions: he doesn't trust you and won't answer. Instead, show him the snake bracelet to show him that you know about the Voodoo (01, 158/342). Now you can  talk with him: ask him about the "Drummer", then about the "Voodoo Hounfour" (02+01, 161/342). While answering this last question he'll choke more and more. In the end the poor fellow will die, muttering the word "Dambhallah". May he rest in peace.
Your task is not over anyway: raise the shirt to check Crash's dead body. You'll find a serpent tattoo. Copy it on your sketchbook (02, 163/342), then exit from the church.
Despite all the common sense and civil duties Gabriel won't go anywhere to notify Crash's death but will head directly home. The horoscope was right: death has walked close to you today: this is how Day 4 ends.
